What am I reading?

Do you read more than one book at a time? Do you like to read more than one at a time?

I can’t stop myself from picking up more than one book, be they paperback, hard cover, or e-book. Maybe it’s the variety of genres, plots, characters, and ideas.

Maybe this overwhelms me, and I don’t even realize it. I haven’t posted on the blog in a while, after all. It was an accident. Life gets in the way. We get overwhelmed with our own brains.

Pre-planning content definitely helps when you feel this way, but the thing is, you have to write that pre-planned content in order to publish it.

I have been writing When Wolves Sing with Swans and starting to think of the sequel, When Mountains Meet the Sea. Stay tuned for more on that!

But this post is about what I’m currently reading, so without further ado, here are a few books I am currently reading. Let me know what your summer reads are in the comments!

I’m very interested in bibliotherapy and did my graduate school final project on a bibliotherapy program proposal for a local library. I will consume all the books on bibliotherapy that I can get my hands on!

I’m Telling the Truth but I’m Lying by Bassey Ikpi is an emotional read that you need to take your time with and savor.

The Geography of Bliss by Eric Weiner is a humorous exploration of what “happiness” looks like around the world.

Hope’s Last Refuge is a poignant and well-timed book by Patrick Morgan, author of Viaticum. I can’t promise you won’t cry while reading it.

Not pictured: current audiobook is Stanley Tucci’s self-narrated memoir Taste: My Life through Food. His voice is so soothing; I didn’t know I could love him more. If you’re a fan of Stanley, definitely check out his audiobook!

With micro-bites of discourse, Oak & River Books goes beyond a ratings system.
